The New Year always fills me with excitement for Summer even though it’s a while away but we can plan and dream can’t we! The new season’s collections start hitting stores end of Jan , so what better time than now to get savvy with the trends so you can pick which one you’ll be focussing on..
How about Micro Minis, ok I maybe over 40 but who cares. Don a pair of tights and chunky flat boots and you’ll feel more March Vogue than school girl Britney. Miu Miu, Dior and Missoni wore them low on the hips and teeny tiny but let’s work with the more high waisted version.. cue Courreges, Pucci and Hermes, who were obviously thinking of a wider age bracket when designing

Now to the biker jacket, which I’m sure we’re all pleased to see in the trend list. Perhaps you already have one or have always planned to invest – they do work with everything ..
Oversized or slimfit, anything goes this season.. you can mix it up with denim like Alexander Mcqueen or keep it clean like Tods
I always vote All Saints for a great leather jacket and their styles don’t date. It’s an investment piece but don’t be lulled into colours, keep it black and it will stand the test of time.
Colour, there’s no room for neutrals this Spring. Let’s embrace those bright colour combos and make a wardrobe that will make you smile.
This is what I’m lusting after now..
You can tell colour is where I’m heading but if you don’t want to dress like a Rothko painting, my advice would be to add colour into your wardrobe through accessories. Think headbands, earrings and scarves or even a great bag for a colour pop.
Stripes were also a big thing on the catwalks for SS22. Diagonals, horizontal and vertical, anything goes. Remember the stripe rules though – Vertical will lengthen your silhouette and horizontal tends to widen which is actually great for broadening the shoulder line to even out the hips if you’re pear shaped.

One for the minimalists , White worn head to toe. You could go sharp trouser suit like Fendi or as Chloe would do, a more bohemian take – like a pretty ruffle dress. I’m definitely feeling the latter.

Over sized blazers are still going strong this Spring. Designers have made sleeves longer and shoulder pads bigger and if you’re daring enough go for nothing worn underneath at all.
